Financial Controller

Job Description

A Global business based in Buckinghamshire is seeking an Interim Financial Controller to join the team with immediate effect. This is a temporary role initially for a period of 3 months with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right individual.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for all aspects of accounting and reporting. He/she will focus on reviewing the consolidated month end accounts/reports and provide commentary on the performance, designed to achieve the brands' objectives and drive the business forward, ensuring that group requirements fit the needs of the Brands and are implemented effectively. The Financial Controller will also co-ordinate the budget and financial control planning cycles, and act as a valued adviser to the Head of Finance Europe, supporting all major financial decisions taken.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide strong leadership, support, coaching and performance management for a team responsible for accounts payable and reporting and analysis.

Accountable for all internal and external reporting

Treasury management to ensure budgeted targets are met

Manage internal/external audit and improve internal controls

Identify and implement efficiency improvements within the Finance department

Co-ordinate budget and financial control planning cycles, challenge submissions to maximize cost savings and revenue targets, ensuring robust and timely information is presented

Analyse budgets and variances, providing commentary

Act as authorized signatory for all payments worldwide.

Ensure regular, accurate reporting:

Monthly management accounts P&L/BS

Monthly Sales and Margin analysis (BW)

PCA (monthly)

3 month short term cash forecast (monthly)

Flash reporting analysis (Weekly)

Management accounts (Year-end), statutory accounts and audit compliance

To apply you will be a qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience gained within a dynamic organisation. You will be prepared to get involved in the detail and work on ad hoc tasks as required. Excellent communication skills and a positive outlook are essential.
